The growth in the amount of data collected and the number of data sources is a challenge for all companies. However, this challenge only gets compounded for organizations that are expanding their operations. When new business sites are established in locations around the world it can be hard and cumbersome to get an overview of your data landscape and generate insights. Different data solutions, reporting styles, as well as currencies and measurement systems are just the tip of the iceberg.
Interdobs Deploys a Uniform Reporting Platform
Interdobs, an SAP Partner based in the Netherlands, was approached by a leading chemical manufacturer. The company had grown rapidly in recent years and now had offices around the globe with different data solutions and needed to improve their data management, analytics, and reporting to improve the efficiency of their operations.
For this, Interdobs put forward two cloud-based SAP solutions:

Defining the Data Problem
The customer’s data landscape consisted of SAP and non-SAP solutions that were either on-prem or in the cloud. They had deployed SAP S/4HANA, SAP’s flagship ERP system, in the US, as the first in a planned series of SAP S/4HANA rollouts. However, their other manufacturing sites in China, Brazil, Taiwan, Italy, the U.K., and the Netherlands all ran different data solutions like AGRESSO, ADEX, and Navision. On top of this, the company used flat files for budgeting or historical figures and Excel files for information gathering.
The company was looking for a solution that would help consolidate all these data sources to simplify reporting. Here’s why Interdobs chose SAP Data Warehouse Cloud and SAP Analytics Cloud to solve their customer’s challenges.
Creating one access layer
When it came to modernizing the customer’s data management strategy, the prerequisites were clear:
- It needed to be a cloud solution to support the company’s cloud-first strategy
- All data had to be accessible from one central layer to simplify reporting
SAP Data Warehouse Cloud provided that central access layer to all data sources, including SAP solutions like SAP S/4 HANA and non-SAP solutions like AGRESSO and ADEX. SAP Data Warehouse Cloud can easily connect to both cloud and on-premise systems and the data can be either virtualized or replicated.
With the data replicated in SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, Interdobs could combine it with flat files, including budgeting spreadsheets and historical figures. Interdobs was also able to centralize the company’s models and views by developing them inside of SAP Data Warehouse Cloud to allow for a quick and centralized conversion between currencies and units of measurement.
SAP Data Warehouse Cloud helps us connect and integrate dispersed systems and solutions to centralize any data landscape. With SAP Data Warehouse as the centre of our customer’s landscape, they gained a single access point to all data and a single source of truth for all employees in the organization.Ronald Konijnenburg, Chief Innovation Officer, Interdobs
