Scheduling Automatic Data Updates in SAP Analytics Cloud
Data never sleeps. Whether it’s web traffic, e-commerce transactions, or sales leads, data is being collected 24/7. As such, you always want to look at the most up-to-date data.
Suppose you have a meeting at 9:00 on Monday morning and you want your SAP Analytics Cloud Story to be updated with the most current data. You can schedule a data refresh to take place at 8:30 a.m. so that by the time you arrive in the office, you’ll have the most up-to-date data for your meeting.
Schedule your updates
To schedule a data update, start by selecting ‘Connection’ from the main menu. Here, you will be able to manage all your datasource connections and schedules.
For live connections such as HANA online or BW online, scheduling is not required since your data does not leave the original location. Check out our list of datasources that support scheduling.
Select the model and datasource to schedule
In the example below, there are two datasources. Select the model you want update and click ‘Import Now’ to access the scheduling options.
Set the schedule settings
There are three scheduling options:
- None (imports immediately)
- Once (imports on a specific date)
- Repeating (schedules recurring imports)
Check the status of the schedule
At any time, you can check the status of your import schedules and make changes if necessary.
